Rules that watch your ads around the clock and act the moment your conditions are met.
Automations pause what underperforms, scale what works, rotate tired creative and alert you, following rules and thresholds you choose. Growth includes automations; Scale adds custom automations.
What is included.
Pause underperformers
Stop ad sets or ads that spend past a level you set without reaching your goal, so budget is not wasted overnight.
Scale winners
Raise budgets in steps on ad sets that meet your goal over a period you choose, within the caps you set.
Rotate creative
Swap in fresh versions when an ad's performance falls below your chosen level, using approved creative only.
Alerts
Notifications when spend, cost per purchase, return on ad spend or tracking moves past a threshold you define.
How automations work
Ads run all day and all night, but people do not watch them all the time. A campaign can overspend on a weekend, an ad can stop converting after a site change, or a winner can run out of budget at midday. Automations are rules that check your campaigns continuously and act when a condition you defined becomes true, so these situations are handled when they happen rather than when someone next logs in.
Each rule has three parts: what it watches, the condition and the action. For example, as an example threshold you would choose yourself, if an ad set spends more than twice your target cost per purchase without a sale, pause it. Or, again as an example, if return on ad spend stays above 3.0 for three days, raise the budget by 20 percent, up to a maximum you set. You can apply rules to one campaign or to many.
Growth includes a library of ready-made rules for the common cases: pausing, scaling, creative rotation and alerts. You adjust their thresholds to your margins. Scale adds custom automations, built around your own logic, such as rules by product margin, stock level or time of day, set up with your dedicated manager. Every rule can run automatically or ask for your approval first.
Every action is logged with the rule that triggered it and the data at that moment, and you can undo it. Rules follow the data they receive, so they are only as good as your tracking and your thresholds. Ad platforms also apply their own limits on how often budgets and ads can change, and their review of new ads still applies when creative is rotated.
Why rules that run around the clock help
Problems caught at any hour
A broken ad or a sudden cost spike is handled at night and on weekends, not the next morning.
Consistent decisions
The same rule is applied the same way every time, without depending on mood or memory.
Winners that are not held back
Ad sets meeting your goal can receive more budget within your caps without waiting for someone to notice.
Fresher ads
Creative rotation reduces the time tired ads stay in front of the same people.
Fewer routine tasks
Checking every campaign for the same conditions each day is handed over to rules.
What to have ready
Automations act on your numbers. These items make sure they act on the right ones.
- Reliable trackingPurchase events that fire once per order with the correct value, because rules read them directly.
- Targets based on your marginsA cost per purchase or return on ad spend you can afford for each product or campaign.
- Budget capsMaximum daily and total budgets that no rule may exceed.
- Approved backup creativeA few approved ad versions ready for rotation, already within each platform's policies.
- Alert contactsWho should receive alerts and how, so the right person sees them quickly.
- Connected ad accountsAdmin access to the accounts where rules will act, with a valid payment method on each platform.

Keeping your rules useful
Rules need maintenance. A threshold that made sense at one price may be wrong after a promotion or a change in shipping costs. Review your rules whenever margins or offers change, and before busy periods such as sales events.
Watch for rules that work against each other. A rule that scales a campaign and another that pauses it on a slightly different measure can make it switch on and off. The action log shows when this happens so you can adjust one of them.
Keep a human in the loop for large changes. Approval mode is useful for rules that move a lot of budget or affect many campaigns at once. Automations save time on routine decisions; they do not replace judgment about your business.
Common mistakes with ad automations
Rules without caps
A scaling rule with no maximum budget can spend far more than intended during an unusual spike.
Thresholds copied from someone else
Examples are starting points. Your margins, prices and costs decide what a good threshold is.
Acting on too little data
Pausing an ad after a few clicks often stops versions that would have worked. Set a minimum spend or period first.
Trusting broken tracking
If the purchase event fails, rules may pause your best campaigns. Alerts on tracking help catch this.

Questions about automations
Which plans include automations?
Growth and Scale. Scale also includes custom automations built around your own logic. Starter does not include automations.
Who sets the thresholds?
You do. Ready-made rules come with example values, and you change them to match your margins and goals.
Can a rule spend more than my budget?
Not if you set caps. Every rule works inside the daily and total maximums you define.
Can I approve actions before they happen?
Yes. Any rule can run in approval mode, where it proposes an action and waits for you.
Can I undo an automated action?
Yes. Each action is logged with its trigger and data, and can be reversed from the log.
What does custom automation mean on Scale?
Rules built for your specific case, such as logic by product margin, stock level or time of day, set up with your dedicated manager.
Do the ad platforms allow automated changes?
They allow changes through the access you grant, within their own limits on frequency and their ad policies. Novaris connects to them and is not an official partner of Meta, TikTok or Google.
